Ryan Mertaugh is a dedicated fly fishing guide, devoted father, and committed river steward based in Jackson, Wyoming. With years of experience on Western rivers, Ryan combines technical skill and patient teaching to help anglers of all levels land fish and build confidence on the water. He’s known for clear instruction, steady leadership, and an easygoing approach that turns first-timers into repeat anglers.
Off the river, Ryan’s role as a father shapes his guiding philosophy—safety, respect for nature, and fostering curiosity are central to every trip. He prioritizes creating memorable, family-friendly experiences that encourage a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors. When he’s not guiding he’s adventuring with his family, trying to keep up with his wife and two wild little kids!
