Owner/Operator/Guide
Ryan Mertaugh has been guiding in and around the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem for the last 20 years. With a true passion for the outdoors he divides his time between fishing in the summer and mountain guiding in the Tetons in the winter. He believes in building community both in the fishing world and in the sense of contributing to the world around him to make it better. Safety and fun are of the utmost importance to Ryan. Being an active member of Teton County Search and Rescue, you are in good hands on Ryan’s boat. When he’s not guiding he’s adventuring with his family, trying to keep up with his wife and two wild little kids!

Satori is a Zen term meaning a sudden moment of enlightenment or deep insight. It’s the instant when you see things clearly, beyond thinking or effort. It is of this mindset that we have built the idea of Satori Anglers, where our mission is to inspire mindful connection with nature through exceptional fishing experiences - where every cast brings clarity, adventure, and a deeper appreciation for the water and the wild. Not everyone is seeking this connection and that is perfectly fine, but if you are… we hope you find your moment with us on the water.

“My son and I fished with Ryan, owner of Satori this past July. We had an amazing trip. Ryan is all about sharing his love of the outdoors in the amazing country around Jackson. Part of his mission statement is to leave as little trace as possible and be an excellent steward of the nature around him. You will have a great time with Ryan. On top of being an accomplished fisherman, he is a competent boatman, search and rescue professional and mountaineer. You will be in good hands!” Patrick Hollister
